Wheelyboat Project - Pershore 2016

Wouldn't it be great if there was a boat in Pershore, run as a 'not for profit' project, set up to take individuals, families or groups onto the river - and wouldn't it be perfect if that boat was set up so it can take people of any mobility - and even wheelchairs.

This has been the dream of the Trustees and Staff at the Riverside Centre - and it is a dream that has now come true.

The boat was delivered to the centre in November 2015 and it will be ready for use in March 2016

Launch Day - The project is a great example of partnership work. The Centre Charity will be running the delivery, The Avon Navigation trust will be providing invaluable support, and launching with their crane is a perfect example. The Wheelyboat trust has been so great in making it happen, and funding has come from Worcestershire County Council 'Short Breaks' funding for people with disabilities.

Launch Day - Clive Mathews (Avon Navigation Trust), Alex Mellor (Riverside Centre) Andy Beadsley (Wheeelyboat Trust) & Cairns Boston (Riverside Centre Trustee)

Top of the range model

There are older models around, but the Wheelyboat in Pershore is the brand new model Coulam Wheelyboat V20.

Add to this the new facilities at the Riverside Centre, car access to the river, and our private launch and pontoon and this really is a great activity package.

Wheelyboat Project - BOOK NOW

How it will work?

The boat will be available from March 2016 to book, and to take on a trip on the river.

It is particularly suited to people in wheelchairs - but it provides a safe, stable platform for anyone, with the added benefit of accessibility for everyone.

familyy trips - if you have a family member in a wheelchair, or limited mobility, then a coupe of hours on the river could be a great day out for them and the family

- Individuals - If you fancy using the boat as an individual, we can arrange training courses so you can take it out

- Groups - This makes it even more cost effective. A great way to experience a very memorable activity. If you are involved with a group working with people with disabilities, then this could be the activity you have been looking for......

Cost - there is a relatively small charge, to help cover the costs of fuel, insurance and staffing. This has been kept to a minimum. - Price for 2 hour trip = £50. day trips available too.
