GCSE Canoe & Kayak (and so much more)

PRYC are proud to work with Pershore High School. The latest collaboration is the GCSE Canoe and Kayak course. 10 weeks started last week, and todays session went ahead despite the rain, wind, strong currents and cold!!!! (it is May, so next week will no doubt be sunny and warm!). Being a charity, with education and young persons development at our hearts, it means we can offer this at the best possible prices.

The course is run using our top notch equipment and led by Matt Mandrell, from Advernture 7. www.adventure7.co.uk This gives the best overall product available in the industry. Today, after just 2 sessions, the group have learnt so much and were launching and landing properly, turning, paddling in straight lines, and efficient sideways draw strokes. The group are mastering Canoes, and after half term will move onto Kayaking skills. after doing so well on flat water. Next week we will do the HEP canoe slide for some moving water experience - all just 200yards from the centre !

The group are great, and well on the way to getting great grades in their GCSE's.

But the work with the High School goes further than that.

Skib is running a Prince's Trust XL course - this is a nationally recognised course getting the students qualifications and great training and experience. The youth team also run the time4U programme at the High school. With only 1 High school in the town, all the sessions, activities, away trips, advise and guidance helps the young people from the High School that need it most. As part of the charities aims and objectives, we are so happy to help with all these things - and pleased and proud of the ongoing partnership with the High School.
